CONNECTION AND COLLABORATION:

The CHRISTCHURCH Morning Edition

Start L&D Week with great coffee, meaningful conversations, and connections with fellow learning and development professionals.

As the official Christchurch kick-off event for NZATD L&D Week, this special breakfast gathering brings the L&D community together to celebrate learning, share ideas, and explore what's happening across our profession.

Discussion Topic: Building Bicultural Practice in Learning and Development

We recognise that practitioners are at different stages in their bicultural journey. This conversation is not about judging where people are today, but exploring how we can learn from each other and move forward together.

Recent NZATD research suggests many learning and development practitioners are actively seeking ways to build their confidence, capability, and understanding of Te Ao Māori within their practice. This breakfast provides an opportunity to share experiences, discuss challenges, and learn from one another in a supportive environment.

As part of the discussion, we'll explore one national question being considered by L&D communities across Aotearoa:

If you could recommend one change that would help L&D practitioners embed meaningful Te Ao Māori perspectives into learning, what would it be?

Whether you're working in organisational learning, capability development, training, facilitation, instructional design, leadership development, vocational learning, or workplace education, this is an opportunity to connect with others who are passionate about helping people learn and thrive.

We'll be gathering at Edizi Café, 158 Gloucester Street, Christchurch, known for its excellent coffee, delicious food, and welcoming atmosphere. There is no formal agenda, presentations, or pressure, just good conversation, shared experiences, and the opportunity to spend time with like-minded professionals.
