About us

NZATD is the professional association for workplace learning, development and performance specialists in Aotearoa New Zealand. We're a community of passionate individuals dedicated to fostering excellence in the field and equipping members with the tools and resources they need to thrive.

NZATD is a not-for-profit organisation owned and run by members; we are supported by one paid employee - our Executive Officer. Our team of volunteers is committed to conducting the organisation’s business ethically and in accordance with the highest standards of governance.

Kotahitanga	Our strength lies in the collective knowledge, skills and experience residing in L&D specialists across NZ.
Manaakitanga	We work to continually build our own skills, and support, the development of others.
Mohiotanga	We share knowledge to grow ourselves, our organisations and communities.
Tikanga	We foster best practice through the provision of competency standards and information on learning and development practices.

Our team

National Executive

Our National Executive is responsible for the overall running of NZATD. They develop strategy and policy within the rules of NZATD and lead the national Annual General Meeting (AGM). The National Executive also is also responsible for overseeing the Board of Studies, including board member selection. This team is made up of the National President, Upper North, Lower North and South Island Branch Presidents, up to two members from each branch committee, and the Executive Officer.

Regional Committees

Our Upper North Island, Lower North Island, and South Island branches are responsible for facilitating regional events and networking opportunities, as well as contributing to national projects and events, and hosting national webinars. Each branch committee is made up of a Branch President or co-Presidents, and members from the region.
