As learning designers, we know it's essential to communicate simply and clearly with our learners. That means we need to be good writers. (Spoiler alert: good writers use plain language!)

This webinar helps you assess your own skill level as a writer. It shows you where your writing style is making things easier or harder for your learners.

This is a session where I'll take you through an assessment your own writing.

You'll leave knowing what your writing strengths are and what you can work on to make your learning material more effective.

Competency Framework Instructional Design

Session Theme and Target Audience: In my kete - Intermediate and senior L&D professionals

Speaker:  Colleen Trolove

Colleen Trolove has been a trainer, coach, writer, and editor in plain language for the last 16 years. With Miraka Davies, she co-owns the online School of unProfessional Writing.

She’s one of the lucky ones who actually uses her English degree at work. Colleen's role allows her a bird’s eye view of New Zealanders’ professional writing. The more she reads, the more she believes that simple, clear communication is the best way to go.

Colleen's on the board of the Technical Communicators Association of New Zealand. She has judged the USA ClearMark Awards, the USA Federal Report Card, the New Zealand Science Communicator Awards, and she’s helped jazz up the WriteMark New Zealand Plain Language Awards by singing at four of the awards ceremonies.

When she's not working, you'll find Colleen at her local CrossFit gym or hanging out with her two daughters.
