Online Event: Show Your Work - Learning Objectives

MEMBER ONLY EVENT

Take a little space on a Friday afternoon to talk technical with your fellow NZATD members. Show Your Work is a relaxed, member-led session designed to explore practical questions, challenge assumptions, and share insights from the field of training and development.

️ Session Agenda

• Introductions (5–10 mins): Meet and greet fellow members.

• Focus Topic (20 mins):
  Do Learners Need Learning Objectives? Challenging Conventional Wisdom
  We often see this statement at the beginning of learning – “By the end of this session you will be able to…”
  But:

  • Is this what learners actually need?
  • What do they do with the list that follows?
    From our perspective:
  • Why do we need learning objectives?
  • What format is most useful?
    Let’s talk about learning objectives. Maybe even decide who they are really for.

• Open Floor (30 mins): Bring your own questions, ideas, or examples. Let’s learn from each other.

• Farewells (5 mins): Wrap-up and next steps.

Registering for this event:

• Prices exclude GST.
• Members can register for this event by logging in using their member login details.

Cancellations and Attendance:

• Please give 48 hours notice of cancellation.
• Once registered, you will be expected to pay regardless of attendance.
• Substitutions permitted if transferred to someone holding the same
• ticket type e.g. member. Non-members are not permitted to attend in place of a member.
