Generative AI is transforming the world, but there are growing concerns about its environmental impact. Those of us in education and training may face questions about our use of this technology or our promotion of it as a helpful tool. As New Zealand continues to make commitments to sustainability through initiatives like the Zero Carbon Act and the Climate Change Commission, we need to better understand the environmental implications of emerging technologies so we can make informed decisions and discuss them with our learners. In this session, we will look at how AI compares to other digital services in terms of energy consumption and how we might use Gen. AI in more responsible ways.
This session will not be recorded, so don't miss out!
