NZATD aims to:
- Foster the development of professional competence and high standards of performance in training and development.

See Membership information on joining NZATD and the current benefits available to members.
NZATD was formed in the early 1980’s and has members from the commercial, public and education sectors.
Members in areas without large branches belong as ‘members-at-large’ and are supported through their closest branch.
NZATD has recently joined forces with AITD to jointly produce the publication Training & Development. Details of the latest edition are featured under NZATD Magazine.
NZATD’s national office is based in Lower Hutt, Wellington. National office supports branches and administration for the organisation. See Contact Us for details.
The national executive comprises eight elected members of the association from whom the president, vice-president and treasurer are elected. Each branch also selects their own executive including a president and treasurer. The branch presidents meet regularly with the national executive.
Meetings and events run regularly around the country. For the latest meeting in your region see the Event Calendar.
Our strength lies in the collective knowledge, skills and experience residing in L&D specialists across NZ.
We work to continually build our own skills, and support, the development of others.
We share knowledge to grow ourselves, our organisations and communities.
We foster best practice through the provision of competency standards and information on learning and development practices.
